The Object of the Game

In Baccarat, you must guess correctly from three possible propositions to win on the next round. The choices are Bank, Player, or Tie.

How to Play

Two Cards go to the Bank hand and two hands are dealt to the Player. In some cases, a third card may be dealt to either or both of these hands. The hand that is closest to nine wins.

• Banker- The "Banker" does not represent the casino. This is merely a betting option for you. The casino makes money by taking 5% of the winnings from the banker bets when the banker wins. The rules of the game favor the Banker's hands slightly.

• Deck- Typically, the game is dealt from an eight-deck shoe.

• Cards Value- Cards from Ace to Nine are worth their face value, or 1 to 0. Tens through Kings are worth 0. The cards are dealt in this manner – a card to the player, a card to the banker, a card to the player, and a card to the banker.

• The total value of the cards- his cannot exceed 9. If the total value of the cards is higher than nine, then subtract 10. For example, 8 plus 9 equals 17, subtract 10, equals 7.

• The Player and Banker hands- - The Player and the Banker will receive a 3rd card or elect to stand on the first two cards, unless one has a natural.

• Natural- This is when the first two cards total 8 or 9. The Banker and the Player stand and take no more cards.

• The Player's 3rd card- When the Player's hand totals 0-5, the player always takes a 3rd card. If the Player's hand has a total of 6-7 he stands.

The Banker's 3rd card

• When the Banker's hand totals 3- The Banker will get a 3rd card, unless the Player's 3rd card is an 8, or the Banker gets a 3rd card if the Player's 2 card total is a 6 or 7.

• When the Banker's hand totals 4- The Banker will get a 3rd card if the Player's 3rd card is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, or the Banker gets a 3rd card if the Player's 2 card total is 6 or 7.

• When the Banker's hand totals 5- The Banker will get a 3rd card if the Player's 3rd card is 4, 5, 6 or 7, or the Banker will get a 3rd card if the Player's 2 card total is 6 or 7.

• When the Banker's hand totals 6- The Banker will get a 3rd card if the Player's 3rd card is 6 or 7.

• When the Banker's hand totals 7 The Banker stands.

Payouts in Baccarat:

• For the winning Player- A winning player will be paid off at 1 to 1. If you bet 10 dollars you will win 10 dollars.

• For the winning Banker- A winning Banker's hand is paid off at .95 to 1. For example, if you bet 10 dollars, you will win $9.50.

• For a winning Tie- This pays off at 8 to 1. A winning tie bet of $10 will bring a return of $80. If you bet on either the Bank or the Player and the Tie happens to win, you do not lose your bet. It is considered a push.
