Fundamentals
Betting on sports is a relatively easy concept. If you are new to it, the wide range of betting options can be overwhelming at first. This section is meant to help the first time sports gambler grasp the basics when it comes to wagering on sports.
All straight bets (except moneylines) work on the 110/100 principle (except when otherwise noted), which means you must risk $110 for every $100 you want to win. Another way of looking at it is that you must risk 10% (commonly called the juice or the vig) of what you want to win. So if you place a $100 wager, then $110 is taken out of your account-the $100 wager plus the 10% juice. If the bet is won then the $110 is returned to your account plus $100 for the wager won. If the bet loses, then the $100 wager plus the 10% in juice is kept by the house.
