Omaha Poker Rules
This game is similar to Texas Hold 'Em in some ways, but you have greater chance of making even bigger hands and it
provides for some very exciting games.
The Sequence of Events
1. Blinds Two. The 2 players to the left of the dealer button both post blinds equal to exactly half the limit that they are playing. These are very similar to the blinds used in a game of Texas Hold'em).2. Dealer Button. This button determines where the action starts. Once the game begins, the Dealer Button moves one player to the right in a clockwise direction for each new deal.
3. The Dealer deals each player 4 cards, face down. These are the Pocket or Hole Cards.
4. The player at the left of the dealer can now begin the betting for this round. Each player will have the option to Call the blinds, Raise the blinds or Fold.
5. After this first round of betting, the Flop is dealt. The Flop is 3 community cards which all of the players may combine to make the best possible hand.
6. After the Flop, the player at the left of the button may begin the second round of betting in the game. 7. The Dealer turns over 1 more community card. This is known as "the turn."
8. After the Turn, the third round of betting can begin.
9. The Dealer then turns over 1 last community card. This is known as "the River."
10. Now, there will be 5 community cards from which players will make their best 5-card Poker hand. The idea is to make the best hand by using a combination of 2 of your 4 pocket cards and 3 of the 5 community cards.
11. After the River card, the final round of betting can begin, this will be each player's last chance to bet before cards are revealed and the winner is announced. This is known as the Showdown of the game.
12. In the Showdown, players must reveal their hands to produce the winner of the game. The winner will be determined by the best hand with the combination of 2 pocket cards and 3 community cards. Each player must use only two 2 hole cards and 3 common cards.
Omaha Poker Betting
During a game, each bet and raise during the first 2 rounds is at a lower limit of the stakes structure. For example, $4 in a $4/$8 game.
During the last 2 rounds, each bet and raise will be at the higher limit of the stakes structure. $8 in a $4/$8 game, for example.
Each player can bet up to 4 times in each round. In the game, this sequence is known as a bet and 3 Raises. It consists of a bet, a raise, a re-raise, and a cap. The cap means that betting is then capped and cannot be raised anymore. Once a pot has been capped, players are only able to Cap or Fold.
Check-raising is permitted in all games.
Omaha Poker Button and Blinds
A button indicates the Dealer of each hand in Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi/Lo games. After each hand is played, the button moves in a clockwise direction to the next active player. The player at the left of the button will be the first to receive a card and must then post a small blind. This small blind will be half the lower limit bet, and it is rounded down to the nearest dollar. The player at the left of the small blind must then post the big blind, which is equal to the lower limit bet. For example, in a $4-$8 game, the blinds will be a Small Blind of $2.00 and a Big Blind of $4.00. This replaces the function of antes in a game of 7-card stud. Both blinds are immediately in the hand and you have options when the clockwise progression of the action returns to you. For a Small Blind, these options include calling the remainder of any bets that have been made, and raising if there are still raises remaining and the game has not been capped.
Options for the Big Blind include checking, if no one has raised, calling, if someone has raised, or raising, if there are still raises remaining and the game has not been capped. Following the flop, in each subsequent betting round, the first active player to the left of the button goes first.
When you first sit in on an active table, you may post an amount equivalent to the big blind. To be able to play immediately, players may sit out and wait for the actual big blind before playing in the game. These rule are set to ensure fairness to all players and prevent any potential abuses by not allowing players to enter several games late and leave before they are required to post a big blind.
Omaha Poker Hand Rankings
Card Rankings follow in descending order.
*In a game, if multiple hands match in rank, the winner will be the one with higher cards. For example, a Queen-high straight will beat a 9-high straight.
*If the hands are still tied in the game, the kicker will determine the winner on hands that are 3 of a kind or below. If the hands in the game still remain tied, the pot is then split between the winners. Any odd chips that remain will go to the left of the button.

In online Poker, games are played at what are called "Table Stakes". This term means that only the chip value a player
has in front of him at the start of a hand can be used in that hand. You are permitted to increase your "table stake"
at any time in between hands but never during a hand.
During the course of a hand, sometimes the betting will exceed the "stake" a player has at the time, and the player may
not have enough to call a particular bet. But the player does not have to forfeit this hand at this time. If the
player wishes to continue, he can then call the amount that he has in front of him and he can then be declared
"ALL IN". Further action may create a side pot and the "All In" player will not have any claim to it. The number
of side pots in a game is only limited to the number of players in a particular hand. The player will have claim
to the portion of the pot that they have contributed to. The rule is based on the way this issue is handled in Las
Vegas style card rooms.
One difference between a Vegas card room and an online game is the "ALL In" rule for Internet disconnects. Our software
is able to determine if you are disconnected from the Internet during a hand. If this happens, your hand will play and
lay claim to the portion of the pot that you have contributed to up to, and until, the disconnection from the Internet
happened. You may notice during a game that you have a preset "All In" account. In this account there are 2 All Ins
allowed in a 24 hour period. If this happens more than two times in a 24 hour period, you can always ask to have
the account reset. Emailing our support staff and request an All In re-set.
If this happens often, Please email our support staff for suggestions. We may possibly be able to make your connection more
reliable. If it determined that your connection to the game is working, your hand may be folded. This action can be taken
protect the integrity of the game. Also, if management feels that an "All In" policy is being abused, this will be addressed
nd a player's "All In" privileges may be revoked. You are advised to exercise caution when both "All Ins" have been used.
Before your account of "all ins" is reset, it is possible that your hand will be folded during a disconnection from the
Internet and you may not be able to lay any claim to the hand or the pot that you were involved with before the disconnection
took place.
Omaha Poker Buy-Ins
In Omaha Poker, the Minimum Buy-in requirement for each game is 10 times the amount of the Small Blind/Bet in the Game.
For example, this might be $100 to enter the $10/$20 game, or $50 to enter the $5/$10 game, or $30 to enter the $3/$6 game ,
or $5.00 to enter a 50¢/$1.00 game.
